This set is manufactured by a unique process which makes use of highly tempered, pure nickel windings - which translates to less mechanical wear, and longer string life.
Because we've eliminated the galvanic couple, this set is corrosion proof (see the chemistry page). We've also eliminated the use of a ductile tin layer (as is used with conventional steel-core strings). In fact, we've eliminated the use of all "sound dampening materials" within the speaking length of the string. The result - less mechanical wear, and a longer "bright period."
We've developed an exclusive patented sheathed-end design, which prevents recoil of the highly tempered windings both during storage and during installation. These sheathed-ends should not be removed until the guitar is strung, otherwise recoil may occur (see directions for use)
The "break-in" period for this set is shorter than that of the phosphor bronze set (both take longer than conventional steel-core strings).
This set has a slightly shorter "bright period" than the low tension phosphor bronze wound set (both sets have longer bright periods than conventional steel core sets).
The duration of the "mellow plateau" period is indefinite. It exceeds that of conventional strings by orders of magnitude. In fact, this set is corrosion proof, so we honestly don't know if this string will ever enter the "dead period".
This set projects sound characteristics that are initially "brighter" than new, conventional steel-core phosphor bronze strings; with a difference in timbre which is even more uniquely "titanium". The "mellow plateau" of this set yields a truly, mellow-soft tone which is uniquely suited for finger-style and jazz guitar playing.
The cumulative tension is lower than that of convention steel-core sets. This translates to less instrument stress, and easier playability. Neck adjustments may be required depending on your guitar model and style of play.
