STEP 1. Attach the brass fitting to the bridge of your instrument. (NOTE: always wear eye protection when removing or replacing musical instrument strings.)

STEP 2. Thread the sheathed-end through the tuning post, leaving enough slack in the string to allow for approximately 2-3 wraps around the post when the string is tuned to pitch. IMPORTANT: DO NOT CUT OFF THE SHEATHED-END until the string has been placed around the tuning post and has been tuned to pitch. Pre-mature cutting can result in winding recoil and loss of sound quality.

STEP 3. Tune each string to CONVENTIONAL PITCH values, and then cut off the excess if desired. IMPORTANT: although lower pitch tunings are acceptable, higher than conventional pitch tunings can result in excessive tension and string breakage, and thus are not recommended.

STEP 4. Cleaning and Storage. Your strings will require very little care, but we recommend that you wipe them periodically with a high quality string cleaner/lubricant/protectant like Dr. Buzz's String Dressing. Although extreme humidity and temperature fluctuations will not affect your strings, extreme fluctuations can damage your guitar. Always store your guitar in compliance with the instrument manufacturer's recommendations.
